Unique Product Features
Specific Systems manufactures a full range of modular environmental
control systems for the petroleum and process industry. The
series 60, 600, 600, and 8000 units are available in vertical,
horizontal, pad mounted, or split system configurations. The
exclusive modular concept features dual redundancy which allows
for easy parts replacement with minimal or no down time. Standard
features include explosion proof motors, AMCA spark proof
fans, hot dip galvanized and stainless steel construction,
anti- corrosion coated coils and state-of-the-art control
circuit technology. The systems are available in designs which
meet class I, groups B, C, and D, divisions I and II as well
as type X, Y, and Z purging requirements. In addition to a
full line of standard units, Specific Systems can custom design
units for virtually any type application.
MILITARY
SYSTEMS
Specific
Systems sets the standard in the military market with quality
modular environmental control systems. The lightweight modular
design allows exceptional efficiency, as well as flexibility
of unit configuration. Lightweight aluminum subassemblies
can be easily handled and serviced. The ease of subassembly
(module) replacement with the spare module results in virtually
zero down time. The modular concept requires fewer spare parts
for support of a given mission because the same modules and
components used in different configurations of a model are
interchangeable. All units feature a hot gas bypass system
to prevent evaporator coil icing during low load conditions.
This ensures exacting temperature control in the shelter environment
for the necessary protection of electronic and computer equipment.
MAC series units are available in horizontal, vertical, and
slimline configuration.
Note: NSN numbers are available for many models.
PURGE
AND PRESSURIZATION UNITS (PPU)
Specific Systems manufactures a full line of fully automatic,
modular purge and pressurization units designed specifically
for the petroleum and process industry. A PPU allows non-explosion
proof equipment to be installed in Division II or I hazardous
locations by purging and pressurizing the building per NFPA-496.
Specific Systems purge and pressurization units are available
in a wide range of sizes with both single and dual fans.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Through the years, Specific Systems has designed
and manufactured a full range of specialized products including
custom environmental control packages, filtration systems,
and many other special products associated with air-conditioning,
heating and ventilation. Custom engineering services are available
on a contract basis for special design and development programs.
MODULAR DESIGN
The modular concept offers extreme flexibility and reliability
for special HVAC applications. The unique modular concept
allows specific unit modules to be quickly and easily replaced
with off-the-shelf modular components should a problem occur.
HCFC- ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE
Specific Systems standard modular products are designed with
a refrigerant receiver, which can be used to pump down the
unit refrigerant during unit servicing. This receiver is capable
of storing the refrigerant charge in its entirely, thereby
eliminating the need to purge refrigerant to the atmosphere
during servicing. This special feature offers an economical
alternative to hazardous refrigerant disposal and ensures
full compliance with 1992 EPA regulations
LOW AMBIENT, LOW LOAD DESIGN
Specific Systems modular products are designed with a unique
flooded condenser, low ambient control system, thereby allowing
the system to operate at temperatures as low as –50 degrees.
LAB AND TESTING CAPABILITIES
Specific Systems maintains complete in-house testing capabilities.
Each unit undergoes a series of tests for performance reliability
and durability. A special set of tests is implemented under
simulated environmental conditions such as rain and extreme
heat. All Specific Systems units are fully tested and operated
prior to shipment.
