Specific Systems MAC™ series sets
the standard in the military market with quality modular environmental
control systems. The lightweight modular design allows exceptional
efficiency, as well as flexibility of unit configuration.
Lightweight aluminum subassemblies can be easily handled and
serviced. The ease of subassembly (module) replacement with
the spare module results in virtually zero down time. The
modular concept requires fewer spare parts for support of
a given mission because the same modules and components used
in different configurations of a model are interchangeable.
All units feature a hot gas bypass system to prevent evaporator
coil icing during low load conditions. This ensures exacting
temperature control in the shelter environment for the necessary
protection of electronic and computer equipment. MAC series
units are available in horizontal, vertical, and slim line
configuration.
Note: NSN numbers are available for many
models.

Custom Units
The MAC 61 unit offers optimum performance under high sensible
conditions typical of today’s modern, highly integrated shelter
systems. The lightweight modular design is considerably more
efficient and flexible than the standard military horizontal
and vertical air conditioners. In the vertical configuration,
the MAC 61 series is often installed on the back of the shelter
beside the door due to its small 17” width.

The MAC 62 offers greater capacity at a significantly reduced
weight and power consumption than the standard family 18,000
BTUH horizontal units do. The unit is often applied in the
slim line configuration, which offers minimal overhang in
the popular over the cab application.

The flexible modular design of the MAC 63 unit makes it the
perfect choice for many applications. Sturdy construction
and state-of-the –art design ensures reliable long-term performance.
The lightweight unit features dual compressor/refrigeration
circuits to ensure 50% backup should one refrigeration system
fail.

The dual compressor MAC 65 units are designed to operate
from –50º F to 125º F. All MAC series military units are built
to withstand extreme environmental conditions, ranging from
those found in the Arabian Desert to the Antarctic. The unit’s
high capacity is coupled with a lightweight interchange design,
making the MAC 65 the logical choice in applications where
size and weight requirements are a prime concern.

The MAC 610 is Specific Systems highest capacity military
model. As featured in all MAC units, the MAC 610 has a unique
flooded condenser, low ambient control design that allows
the unit to start and operate at very low load and low ambient
conditions (down to –50º F). The small size and accessible
design of the MAC 610 allows two units (main and backup) to
be mounted side by side in the end of a standard ISO Shelter.

The MAC 61 SPB, 14,800 BTUH, is designed for use in the new
standardized integrated command post shelter system, designed
for the hummer vehicle. The modular military air-conditioning
system features the same basic design concepts as the standard
specific systems MAC 61 unit but is configured to mount in a
tunnel at the front of the shelter. This unit can be provided
with an ultra quiet low electrical power diesel fuel fired heater.
Through the years, Specific Systems has designed and manufactured
a full range of special products including custom environmental
control packages, filtration systems, and many other special
products associated with air-conditioning, heating and ventilation.
Custom engineering services are available on a contract basis
for special design and development programs.
